SF: Weekly random thoughts on the mayor's race. |
|
1. As of this week, my three votes would most likely go to Phil Ting, David Chiu and Tony Hall.
2. If you are about to go ballistic over Hall, he's a Republican like Clint Eastwood was a Republican. He would be a flaming liberal Republican anywhere outside of the City.
3. Look for Michela Alioto-Pier to try and play some version of the race card. Her pollster called our place and asked me several questions regarding the ballot measure requiring that kids be forced to attend their neighborhood school.
4. The honeymoon is over for Ed Lee now that he is a candidate and he is proving to be more thin-skinned than I previously thought.
5. I'm amazed by how quickly Bevan Dufty has faded from sight.

And I think she plans to appeal to white and Chinese voters who may want to keep poor kids form going to their neighborhood schools.

2. The only good modern republican is one that is NOT holding any office. |
|
If the republican that you seem smitten with wins in SF, watch that person become another Arnold in California. Kill the beast in the womb, defeat the republican by any means.

3. Hall is too old to aspire to statewide office. |
|
And would never get past the primary.
