In the book IN COLD BLOOD, Truman Capote wrote that in Holcomb, KS, people could just pump natural gas out of the ground to heat their homes. Is this still true? And if so, I guess you could use it to cool your home also?

4. I live in Ohio and I have a friend who has her own natural gas well... |

on her property in the city. I don't think there is a pump, I think it just comes out. She does not have to pay for the gas that she uses. Came with the house. Soooo Maybe Truman was right.
