A planet in peril! Two wars! The worst economy!
"Even as we celebrate tonight, we know the challenges that tomorrow will bring are the greatest of our lifetime: two wars, a planet in peril, the worst financial crisis in a century," Obama told an enormous crowd in Chicago.

"This is our moment," said Obama. "This is our time - to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth - that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes We Can!"

If Wall Street, The M$M and Rupert Murdoch say it is okay first. THEN YES WE CAN! Oh wait...they said no. :(

Jobs problem? What problem? Housing crisis? What housing crisis?

It's just propaganda against the President. All lies! Take a look outside and see, it's a wonderful world.

8. Obama is gonna bring coattails for a super majority
and jobs will be so plentiful that you can pick them right off the trees. Like Manna from the heavens above. Everyone will have two houses. The earth will be cleaner because everyone will want to bike to work to enjoy a more lush beautiful nature; where the weather is always pretty.

14. However, we did
Edited on Fri Sep-02-11 05:17 PM by Riftaxe
and all we got was delivered to health insurance companies on a silver platter....

Can a single Mom now provide health care to her children, nope and the more i read of the abomination that was passed, she only gets to pay for the privilege of not being able to provide that health care.

This is not surprising to anyone that neither party cares about poverty, but when we had majorities in congress instead of doing anything about it, we chose to nail those in poverty harder to the wall, and demanded congratulations for it.

Those of us who pay attention, will just say Et Tu Ceasar and perhaps weep.

12. No comment.
So what does President Obama think about the abysmal jobs report,

The one where ZERO jobs were created in the month of August?

President Obama left for a mini-vacation in Camp David with no comment on the jobs report.

39. But that is a week of working his fingers to the bone
Carney has said he works each and every day on jobs, tirelessly. He is a hard working dynamo, but not to be confused by the one true superman, Bill Clinton who took a mere 24 days of vacation in his first several years in office. Bush had 140. I stopped counting Obama's vacation days, but it is nowhere near what Bush took.

22. I feel like I must be dreaming. Something doesn't connect.
"Where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes We Can!"

Does that depend upon what ones definitions of the words "Yes" "We" and "Can" are?

23. I always wonder-- with the power of the US Presidency, and then seeing what he's done since then...
is what he's done REALLY what a forward-thinking, caring, DECENT person would have done?

Done ANYONE get the feeling that Obama has really tried to end the bullshit in DC?

24. Relax
This is inter-dimensional chess on levels you couldn't possibly understand. He has them by the throat and they don't even know it. When he pulls the rip cord out, and the parachutes of American salvation come flying past you - will you be able to even comprehend the strategy and skill that it took to do what he does when he does it?
