Wasteful, Big Brother, Lot of Pork, Socialistic, Job Killing, Welfare, Hasn’t Worked Stimulus Monies
Edited on Sat Sep-03-11 09:57 AM by Pistarkle
Tea Partied Republican Congressional Representatives and Senators are really revving up with those FAR FROM HONEST labels for President Obama’s Stimulus package these days. I guess they’re laying the framework for bashing the September 8th unveiling of the President’s Jobs Plan. The FACTS of the matter are that the Stimulus-Based Economic Recovery Act rescued the country from a full-blown economic depression; saved 640,000 jobs, created 2.4 million jobs and could have created even more jobs if the Tea Partied Republican “Break Obama” Blockade accepted the FULL amount of the President’s Stimulus request and didn’t VOTE AGAINST it in 2009. The most HYPOCRITICAL fact of the matter is that BILLIONS of Stimulus monies were requested AND accepted by the MAJORITY of Tea Partied Republican Congressional members who presented Stimulus benefits to their constituents as if it had nothing to do with the President’s economic recovery battle. Here is a tiny snapshot of what some Tea Partied Congressional members did with those “wasteful” Stimulus dollars:

House Speaker Boehner got $57 million to create construction dollars for President Obama’s “shovel-ready project idea. Minority Whip Eric Cantor received 130.4 million for economic recovery projects in Virginia. Senator Orrin Hatch requested $95 million in stimulus money for the Provo River Water Users Association in Utah. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell allocated $5,876,000 for Blue Grass facility repairs. Senator Jim DeMint secured millions in Stimulus funds for the 1-73 corridor highways in South Carolina. Representative Steve King used $570,000 to widen U.S. Highway 20 in a rural area of northwest Iowa. Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers took credit for $35 million in stimulus highway funds. Representative Gus Billrakis got $16 million in highway funds to widen Tampa’s Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in Florida. Representative Jack Kingston bragged about bringing stimulus jobs to his district. Representative Mike Castle claimed credit for over $5 million Stimulus fund he voted against. Representative Henry Brown secured millions in Stimulus funds for the 1-73 corridor highways in South Carolina. Representative Connie Mack received $29 million in Stimulus funds to improve railroad infrastructure in his Florida district. Representative Judy Biggert spent $10.9 million dollars to upgrade Naperville’s public utility in Illinois. Senator George LeMieus requested $65million for a bus and train center in Jacksonville, Florida. Representative Shelly Capito Moore received $1.5 million in Stimulus for first-time homebuyers. Representative Zach Wamp praised $71.2 million in economic stimulus funds for the Oak Ridge Lab in Tennessee. Congressman Bill Shuster used Stimulus monies to provide a $10.4 million grant and a $3 million low interest for construction covering the state infrastructure Investment Authority. Representatives Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen banded together to request $106 million to improve Miami’s NW 25th Street Viaduct. Alabama Representatives Jo Bonner, Parker Griffith, Mike Rogers, Spencer Bachus and Alabama Senators Jeff Sessions, and Richard Shelby of Alabama received a total of $90 million Stimulus dollars for cocongrass eradication and control programs. Representative Cliff Stearns requested $79 million in Stimulus money for a project to improve infrastructure of a port in Jacksonville, Florida. Representative Geoff Davis took credit for $1 million in recovery funds for his district in Kentucky. Senator Sam Brownback tried to take credit for $1.78 million Stimulus monies that funded a federal grant to help build a rail spur to serve the Salt City Business Park in Kansas. Senator Richard Burr won a $2,008,515 Stimulus-funded grant to pay for a new 19,000 square foot fire station in North Carolina. Senator Inhofe hailed $25 million in Stimulus money for a Tar Creek Superfund site in Oklahoma.

How dare President Obama fight for those wasteful, big brother, lot of pork, socialistic, job killing, welfare, hasn’t worked Stimulus monies for Tea Partied Republican Congressional representatives and senators when they OBVIOUSLY (!?!?!) had no use for it?
