Bachmann ‘Open To’ Elimination Of Corporate Income Tax
Source: ThinkProgress

SCHEIFFER: Congresswoman, what I asked you was would you go as far as Sarah Palin and eliminate all corporate income taxes?

BACHMANN: Well, of course to do that we’d have to have a fundamental restructuring of the tax code. What we would have to do then is rejigger other elements to define revenue and what revenues would be needed to the economy. We could go that route. If we went that route, we’d have to have a fundamental restructuring of the tax code. I am open to having that debate, and as a former federal tax lawyer, I’ve dealt with whether it’s a national consumption tax, a flat tax, or some variation of the current system. This is what I do know. It needs to be simplified, it needs to be fairer, it needs to be reduced. What we do know is that the current corporate tax rate is killing job creation.

2. And since corporations are just "people"...then we eliminate ALL Federal Taxes for ALL "people"!
Edited on Mon Sep-05-11 01:02 PM by SoapBox
That should put Crazy Shelly out of a job...she will lose her healthcare...her farm will not get any more free government dollars...and her WEIRDO husband and his sham clinic will not get anymore of my money.

Sounds good from those aspects!

BUT...I would rather just put her and her gay husband out of work and keep our government for the people.

3. "we’d have to have a fundamental restructuring of the tax code. ...we’d have to have a fundamental
restructuring of the tax code."

So you say we'd have to have a fundamental restructuring of the tax code, eh, Michele? If you were at the helm, Michele, Americans would be quivering in their boots, wondering just what wacko decisions were being made behind the scenes. Hey, Michele, you left a church that considers the Pope to be the antichrist, just as you announced your bid for the Presidency. http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2011/07/15/michele-bachmann-officially-leaves-her-church/ I've been told that your church's rules didn't allow you to be President or run for that office... is this true, Michele? Can you explain how you were a member of a church that considers the Pope to be, essentially, the devil? What are your personal views on the Pope, Michele? We haven't heard you speak out against your former pastor yet. When do the anti-church comments come from your corner? Or do you support your former church's views entirely?

6. Unerring logic.
If lower taxes are better than higher taxes, then the obvious goal should be no taxes at all.

8. Yes. Because the 88% share of economic gains corps already get is obviously not enough.
She is right about simplifying the tax code, though. I suppose that's a case of even a stopped clock being right twice a day...

9. Great idea!
Let's do away with the "corporate" income tax. Since corporations are people, make them file individual tax returns like the rest of us. Same deductions, same rules the whole shebang. See how they like that!
