“No more manufactured crises" |
|
Sounds like an acknowledgment of what we knew was going on all along. So my question, Mr. President, is why did you participate in the last three?

Protect the country from the teapub idiots. Would you have preferred a default? Just getting close got our rating dropped. Would you have preferred to see the POTUS take his football and go home rather than deal with the issue?

Cuz if he couldn't stand up then, what's going to be different about next time?

4. He did stand up. The teabaggers didn't get all they wanted. |
|
Nobody can force you to be fair, but I can tell you when you are wrong, and will.
Next time remains to be seen. If they are like the other times we see all the manufactured angst, there will be good in that too.
Reality is, you give some and you get some. It happens every day in every way. To think that a hardass attitude will deliver....you'd go away disillusioned.

and it will take a lot more than good speeches and empty promises to get us back.

3. In case you didn't notice, since Republicans control the House (and the Senate through the |
|
filibuster) they are very capable of making a manufactured crisis into a very REAL crisis. If they failed to raise the debt ceiling or fund the government or reauthorize the FAA, then even though they manufactured the crisis, it is still a crisis nonetheless.
The President can't pass legislation and the government still requires it to function. I find it truly bizarre that we have a wing of government that has completely abdicated their responsibility to govern yet some people, like yourself, choose to focus their anger and contempt at the person trying to responsibly govern instead of the real villains.

I hope, I hope, I hope he makes those words ring true.
I am so cheering for him to turn it around. If he wins, America wins!
