CARSON CITY, Nevada — Several people were reportedly shot on Tuesday morning at a restaurant in South Carson City, local media reported.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported that at least seven people were shot by a suspect carrying a semi-automatic weapon. There were no immediate reports on the status of victims, some of whom were being transported from the scene by helicopter.

There was no confirmed reports on the status of the gunman.

The incident took place at the Carson City International House of Pancakes on South Carson Street.

At least eight people have been shot by a suspect reportedly carrying a semi-automatic weapon at the Carson City International House of Pancakes.

Details of the situation are still developing, but the suspect has been reported as "down".

The shooting happened just before 9 a.m. At least four helicopters have been called to the scene. Medical and law enforcement personnel are still evaluating the scene.

Highway 395 has been closed as of 9:22.

CARSON CITY, Nevada — One person is dead and at least seven people were wounded during a shooting Tuesday morning at a restaurant in Carson City, according to the FBI and local police.

Lt. Rob Van Diest of the Reno Police Department told the Reno Gazette-Journal that one person has been confirmed dead.

Carson City Sheriff Kenny Furlong told The Associated Press the gunman opened fire inside an IHOP restaurant about 9 a.m. on Tuesday. He said multiple people were wounded, including the shooter.

Furlong said the person who authorities believe to be the shooter has been transported to a hospital "and is probably going to die." It was unclear if the confirmed death was the alleged gunman.
