Three Polls All Confirm Bad News for Obama
By: Jon Walker - FDL

<snip>

Three new national polls were released this morning and all of them paint a bleak picture for President Obama. All three polls found Obama’s approval numbers in net negative territory, with large majorities disapproving of how he is handling economic issues.

The Washington Post-ABC News poll found Obama reached a new record low in his overall job approval numbers. From the Washington Post:

More than 60 percent of those surveyed say they disapprove of the way the president is handling the economy and, what has become issue No. 1, the stagnant jobs situation. Just 43 percent now approve of the job he is doing overall, a new career low; 53 percent disapprove, a new high.

The Wall Street Journal-NBC News poll also found...

Heavens? What shall we do?

Expect lots more of this as they spin the web of anti-Obama memes prior to the election.

Must...not...let...black man...win........

3. Maybe...
One of the few bright spots for Obama in this flood of bad polling data today is that he at least remains personally popular. The GWU poll found 74 approve of Obama as a person, but of those, a large percentage indicated that they will “definitely not vote for Obama.”

Same piece.

5. Plenty of time to turn it around.

Be glad it's happening now instead of a year from now. He's got lots of tools he can use to ratchet up support. All he has to do is use them. It's his election to lose. You heard it here first.

6. Oh Yeah... Now Is Good...
He needs to set a narrative now that can be built upon and pointed to over and over throughout the year.

A lot of the coming year's "oxygen" will be all about the Republican candidates and their primary fights.

7. How does pivoting at bottom change anything?
When you've hit rock bottom, you generally attempt an upward climb towards improvement. But pivoting just gets you facing the same direction where your ass has just been.
