Was Just Over At Free Republic... |
|
I was trying to see what their responses were to the speech, but I had a little trouble. It took two tries to get just the main page, and four before I could even get one article to come up. The poor, old, bogged down server was just having a really hard time, probably about to catch that Commodore 64 on fire, not to mention the 1541 disk drive.
When I finally did get it to load, there was this impassioned plea:
"Hey! FReepers! Help Fill The Tank! How About It? Huh? It Ain't Askin' Too Much Ya Know.... "
Along with a pathetic little gas gauge with the needle a hair's breath from empty, and it got me thinking. Why don't we all go over there and donate $0.02? With 50 of us, that could be a dollar! with 100 of us, that could be, uh, two dollars!
What's Superman without Lex Luther? What's rich without poor? What Sheldon without Leslie (maybe that's backwards, I'm not sure...) What's Jeff Gannon without... nevermind.

13. I wouldn't wish that! |

The children of America sent FDR pennies to set aside the wonderful Smoky Mountains National Park, which is still thriving today.
I'd rather FreepU dies.

12. I think it's really a matter of how exclusive they've become |
|
Based on what I've heard from other people here, they have a very narrow ideology and any deviance results in someone being kicked out. It's a useful lesson for any political party that enforcing rigid conformity leads to death. It seems like that's starting to kill the teabaggers.

15. Actually, we should all do exactly that! And here's why... |
|
Assuming they are taking credit cards, they are likely paying a fee per transaction in addition to a percentage of the sale. The fee is probably 10-30 cents. So if we donate 2 cents, they will lose 8-38 cents per donation.
