Her media smarts are considerable |
|
She only gave that "speech" in order to be in the same news cycle as President Obama, who clearly knocked her out of the park, speech-wise. Still, she got what she wanted. There will be just as many articles and segments about her as there will be about Obama tomorrow, if not more so. That's why she is always sure to say or do something controversial. It brings guaranteed coverage. It doesn't matter if it's flattering or not. There she is, on all of our television sets. But maybe, just maybe, she really did blow it this time. But I doubt it.

Even bad publicity is publicity.

The GOP? If they plan to use her down the road, they need to take control of her now

Most of the things she says will go down the memory hole with help from the media.

11. Not really a good point at all. |
|
The Right is what's keeping her going, not the Left.
That post did make me wonder, just not about the same thing that it made you wonder about.

5. As Lawrence O'Donnell said tonight |
|
He's never seen a politician (I'd maybe contest the fact that she's really a politician) who has never once, ever, not even once, attempted to speak to anyone outside her own supporters. The more she plays the victim, the more they love her.
It's true what they say in the entertainment world (and Sarah Palin knows this): there's no such thing as bad publicity. She is an entertainer, with a fan base. It's how she makes her living. She has no serious political philosophy or political aspirations. Those are impossible at this point. But she knows how to wrap the media around her little finger.

... instead he hit one right out of the park.
Hers was a very risky gambit, and she ends up looking like the dingbat we all know she is.

21. no, smart media would have released it the same time as Obama's speech or tomorrow morning |
|
the pundits trashed her all day, by tomorrow they will be on Obama with Palin as a footnote (note how much more presidential Obama was than Palin was.)

Gad, you Palin addicts are really a bunch. If Big Media weren't run by her subjects, sycophants, and crushes, no one would have ever heard of her.
