And we feel all warm and fuzzy right now about our President. But let's be realistic. Next week, the news cycle changes. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. (Flame away, if you will.)

5. There seems to be a continual debate about words
How they have meaning and they matter. How they are just hot air, we want action.

I go for the former. The words of the Declaration of Independence and the Gettysburg Address uplift us.

10. There's more to life than the "news cycle".
Maybe you should take a break from the "news cycle" for awhile so you can experience life.

16. Seriously?
Are you that impassioned, that you have to use such language on a fellow DU'er? I may not have 1000 posts yet, but I'm still a member. Reality is much harder to deal with than fantasy, but there it is. Deal with it.

15. You are diminishing the fact that this event will influence a change in the national dialogue.
Go back and read the words of the President and let them motivate you to facilitate change within your community.

find that not much will change for the better because of it.

25. Hope springs eternal.
Even if the President takes our vote and dashes the very hope he "said" he stood for, to the rocks.

In the end, all that will matter is your actions, not the impassioned speeches you give. Obama is a charmer, no doubt about that. Is he keeping the promises he made during his speeches along his campaign? That is up to the people of America to judge.

John.
