However, he has to win in South Carolina and the South. That will be difficult for a Mormon. He may win NH? I doubt that he can carry Iowa.
Unfortunately for Romney, the Republican candidate must win his primary. That is an uphill battle for him.
Perry held good stead with the right-wing base. The audience even applauded when he talked about how many people had been put to death and Texas "justice". He will be very strong in the primaries.
If there were no primaries and went straight to the general election, Romney would have won easily. However, with the primary system in place, Perry is still the front runner, in my opinion.

he repeated that false chestnut about Al Gore supposedly claiming to have invented the Internet. He shouldn't have reminded me that Republicans are liars.
