Here in Tucson, it's been a rough few days
The sadness has been overwhelming and the city (people) needed to exhale. We wanted to cheer and clap to start to blow out the bad air we have holding in since Saturday. You good folks or most of you haven't been here. There has been a pall over the city. We are extremely proud to have President Obama here to mourn with us tonight. Trying to be civil here, but to you who said our response tonight has been inappropriate, let me say this:

STFU!

Thank You

Hobo

9. Sounded perfectly appropriate to me.
Don't expect to be over it anytime soon, btw.

And don't be surprised if life is divided into Before the Shooting and After the Shooting.

This happened to all of you.

18. That Safway was my grocery store
I was in the B of A on the corner at 9:00 am Saturday morning while they were setting up. I'm pretty sure that Congresswomen Gifford aide who was killed was standing in front of me in line waiting for a teller.

22. Like I said
As a lower Manhattanite who also remembers when JFK was shot, don't expect to get over it anytime soon.

14. Yeppers
I've been in mournful situations, have gone to public funerals and memorials. My opinion -- if you ain't there, if you are not the one(s) suffering or mourning, you really have no idea.

So -- hope it all gets better there for all of you in Arizona. I hope most of all that people start to realize that civility needs to be re-introduced into our national climate.

17. Tucson is a beautiful COMMUNITY. I love it there and would move in a heartbeat
if I had the means (I'm in Phoenix).

There is nothing for which to apologuize. Well done, Tucsonans.

Your city certainly showed how much you care and your city certainly shown magnificence from your residents, to your doctors & medical personnel, to your sheriff and certainly tonight!

23. I wanted to say that so much tonight. This was a memorial ( memories)
of lives celebrated and people pulling together. The mourning that many expected will come at the private funerals in each persons church or home. I am glad you feel free to speak out. We are trying to be supportive for our friends and DUers in AZ.

I mean other than Crosshairs Palin? Grief is grief and all of Tucson is grieving in their many ways.

28. Everyone I spoke to today said that the memorial was great.
We interpreted the cheers in the background as rounds of applause and agreement. Well done Tucson.
