Man Beheads Self in Virginia

A man in Virginia beheaded himself Tuesday after an apparent domestic dispute with his wife. Police responding to a call about the dispute noticed a burning utility trailer and a white SUV nearby. They also noticed that the driver of the SUV had tied a cable around a tree, run it through the car window, and wrapped it around his neck. When police tried to get him to exit from the vehicle, he accelerated and decapitated himself. "Nobody has ever heard of anything like this," the local sheriff said.

Feel bad for the cops????
I feel bad for the driver, who felt life was not worth anything more than a gruesome exit!

I don't feel bad for the cops. Ever.

20. As a matter of fact, I am!
But my son has been hassled by the cops too many times over bullshit ... tossed his car because he was young and driving to Bonnaroo.

Pardon me if I have no sympathy for the pigs.

22. It's really weird...
I drove all over the US and Europe as a young person and never had my car "tossed" by police.

Ever think there might be something more to it? Also, sounds like a flaky reason to be devoid of empathy in any case.... That's just me.

28. While I will withhold comments on empathy I will say I have been harassed a lot by cops
In one three month period I was pulled over 5 times without reason and my car was tossed 3 of the times. I was also tackled once by a cop during this same time period as I was walking away from my own car under the suspicion that I had just broken into and robbed my own car.

Lets get some facts straight. The first is that I don't speed when I drive due to my concerns about global warming. The second is that I was a young black man driving a bmw (since I switched to a Prius I've been getting pulled over a lot less.)

Even outside of this dark period of three months I was still pulled over once every couple of months.

Just because you have never been harassed by cops doesn't mean it doesn't happen, and it doesn't indicate that the person harassed was doing anything wrong.

12. In May, during the week that the world was supposed to end
A 42 year old man went to the end of the fishing pier in the town where I live, tied a rope around his neck and jumped off, decapitating himself. His body was recovered in the surf but they never found his head. It's been a pretty creepy summer on the beach.

I couldn't help but wonder if his suicide was related to the ridiculous prediction. Also, Billy Graham's son was coming into town later that week for a big religious to do.

24. Young British weapons scientist did the same thing a few years back.
Did 22 SDI Researchers really ALL Commit Suicide?

EXCERPT...

Sharif was a 26-year-old computer analyst who worked at the Marconi Defense Systems headquarters in Stanmore, Middlesex. On October 28, 1986, he allegedly drove to a public park not far from where Dajibhai had died. He tied one end of a nylon cord around a tree and tied the other end around his neck. Then he got back into his Audi 80 automatic, stepped on the gas and sped off, decapitating himself.
