If you were given 3 hours per day on talk radio...? |
|

...and replayed on the weekends, could you have an impact for or against an individual politician or political Party? If you lied about and lambasted this person every day of the week, could you affect the way people feel about that politician or Party?
That is what Rush Limbaugh gets paid big bucks to do. He is a professional propagandist. He is not an entertainer. His last contract was for about $250 million dollars for a multi-year contract. And I'm sure the people that pay him think he is worth every penny of it.
Just think about what this guy does? He is an honorary member of the Republican Congress. He advises them on strategy and arguments to use against the Democratic Party. All the while, he pretends he is just an "entertainer" just doing his job by keeping the Democrats honest.
But make no mistake, he is a very effective propagandist. He performs his high-wire act in front of millions of low IQ and naive citizens who believe he is as great as he says he is. The truth of the matter is that he is the most anti-American "entertainer" in this country. The damage he has done is immeasurable. It is terribly sad that so many people buy into his spiel.
If there was ever a reason to boycott and not purchase an advertised product, it would be those on the Rush Limbaugh show. His advertisers are as un-American as the Rushbo himself.
But he is not the only one. In those other hours that Rush is not on, they are filled with similar propagandists, espousing the greatness of the Republican Party and their leaders, as they tear down their opposition. On the other hand, the few liberal radio personalities on the air, seldom attack individual members of the opposition Party. Instead, they attack their ideas. There is a world of difference.

1. You can't trust the liberal media. Believe only Rush. |

2. 3 hours a day on the radio...let's see... |
|
Well, for starters, I know I am not intelligent or articulate enough to fill 3 hours of radio myself. However, what an opportunity to have some of the world's leading thinkers share their thoughts with an audience?
Just think. Three hours a day...you could cover science, policy, the arts, etc., etc.
What an opportunity!

3. You see, that is the problem... |
|
Rush and his co-propagandists do not discuss "science, policy, the arts, etc., etc." They discuss Barack Obama and the terrible job he is doing and why he is not competent to be President...day after day...after day...
They do not discuss subjects that would lift the people up or enlighten them, they tear down their political opposition. That is their only goal.

4. That was exactly the point I was trying to make, though rather obliquely |
|
You put it out there way more articulately!

8. I don't think it's a problem so long as listeners are free to change the station. |
|
Between FM, AM, XM, Digital, and online streaming radio there are literally HUNDREDS of other options to listen to.
When you really get to thinking about it, it's not a big deal at all how or whom Rush goes on about spewing his propoganda... what really chaps your ass is that so many people actually VOLUNTARILY LISTEN to it. Deep down, you know that if Rush didn't exist then it would just be another media-political figure fulfilling the role - because interestingly enough, there is a DEMAND for it.
It's no different than the Jerry Springer type television shows. It's not the fact that such TeeVee excrement exist that upsets some people... it's that fact that it's wildly popular.

There is a demand for it just as there is a demand for people to slow down and look at a terrible accident.
And you think there is no difference between Jerry Springer and Rush Limbaugh?
OK....

10. He's on the armed forces radio service. |

Finding something else at that time might not be an option for what is considered a "captive audience".

11. That hasn't stopped him |

The few times I have tuned in to hear it for myself, he didn't sound intelligent or articulate. Sounded like a blowhard gang member trying to diss another gang.

I have a proven track record of converting ex-conservatroids to confirmed Obama voters. It would all happen in the "Booth of Truth"!
