They don't want anyone to vote.

They win elections when people don't vote.

Edited on Thu Sep-08-11 04:40 PM by Edweird
Remember how those that are unhappy are dismissed as irrelevant because they are either part of a tiny insignificant far left fringe group that is out of touch with reality OR they are 'trolls'? Well, you can't have it both ways. You can't tell people their vote doesn't matter and then berate them for not voting for your candidate.

If Obama loses it is nobody's fault but his. He chose RW policy and he will have to live with how it affects the nation.

39. I feel the same way...
...about posts calling for primary challenges, referring to Pres. Obama as our "Republican President", insinuating anyone that supports Pres. Obama isn't a "real" Democrat, expressing the desire to not vote, vote "Green" or for a write-in...

...see how that works? The only difference is, LoZo hasn't broken any rules. The references above are either blatant disregard for the "rules" or pushing it pretty close to the line.

21. Does it really worry you that Obama could lose because progressives stayed home?
Edited on Thu Sep-08-11 02:46 PM by county worker
If so why the hell do you except the idea that Obama is the constant and the progressives have to be the variable. Obama can be as center right as he pleases and if he loses it is the fault of the progressives in your mind.

To me that sucks!

If Obama loses it's because he is playing to the independents of which there is not enough votes to win.

The right make up 30% the left make up 30% and the independents make up 30% with the other 10% being either very extreme or not interested. The repub can get the 30% of the right and enough of the independents to win. Obama can't do that. He can't get 30% of the left and enough independents to win by playing only to the independents!

He can't win with 30%. So does he think he will take republican votes? I think some more moderate voters will vote for him. Still not enough votes there to win.

As Rohm Emanuel said, "where are they going to go?" I'll tell you where. To organize a third party!

So go live in you ivory tower and throw arrows down to us lowly progressives but you are going to get screwed just as bad. If I were you I'd change my tune and work to persuade Obama that he needs progressive votes and not persuade progressives they need Obama!

I guarantee you that the Dems will have a low turn out if Obama continues to play to the independents.

Tonight's jobs speech will do little to give hope to the unemployed. The feeling is if you don't give a shit about us we don't give a shit about you. How much more do they have to lose anyway?

You might be able to tell that I really hate the political shape we are in and I even hate the idea that my vote will be a vote against the repub but not for Obama if I vote at all!

27. if you'll take the "lesser of two evils", do you have a limit on the lesser evil?
If the repubs run Satan himself will you vote for anyone running with a D? What if a Koch got a D by their name? That's still probably better than Satan.

And, why telegraph your vote 14 months in advance instead of making the lesser evil at least pretend to not be evil until the election?

I'm going to wait until closer to the election to decide. Then vote for the individual on the ballot who best represents ME. If the majority of electoral votes don't go my way then so be it. I let the parties know what I want even though a majority of the voters probably voted for a letter (R or D) instead of a candidate. Nothing's going to change until enough voters let the parties know what they want instead of being control by the parties.

And, I am NOT one of those "what other choice do you have" supporters. I support our President and the Democratic Party as a whole. No pessimism...anymore.

68. Doesn't matter... I cast my vote and lets the chips fall where they may.
Don't let fear or bullying change the way you exercise you right to vote.
YOUR vote... YOUR voice. Use it to support YOUR chosen candidate.

86. I'm voting for the Democratic candidate..
Doesn't mean I'm happy with the President though because I'm far from that.

Anyone of the batshit insane teabaggers running for prez would mean the end of America if they get elected.
