If Harry Reid is calling for a vote on something immediately after |
|
the President's speech, my curiosity and tin foil hat are in place. In the speech the President may make a statement that starting Monday, such and such jobs (infrastructure or something)will be open/starting,funds must immediately be made available, etc. If repubs vote against they will look like fools. Grab the iron/microphone while it's hot.
Whatcha think?

2. The vote after is about the deficit. |
|
Don't believe it's related to the jobs bill. Plus this would have to start in the house, yes?
But it's a real good idea.

4. Gotta go thru the House first, and some other procedural crap ... |
|
... they can't just 'announce & vote'.
Or, since the Patriot Act, maybe they can.

7. skipping the speech is a douchebag move |
|
and Reid is being a douchebag back by making them stay in DC and not able to skip the speech with an "out of town" excuse. And I still hate setting the douchiness bar at the repubs level.
Nothing's going to get done on jobs without bi-partisanship. And both sides are making that more difficult every day with stunts like this. If you want results instead of a "go big" speech that can be used in the campaign you should be as disgusted by this as by repub stunts. If you want democrats to look tough then this is good (but it's all for looks so don't expect jobs).
