36. If you'd been paying attention you would know that the reason that he put it on the block
to begin with was to prove a point and that point is that if he proposes it they are against it. This was happening during the time that the pukes were trying their damnedest to gut both ss, medicare and the new healthcare bill.
Either you're not paying attention or you don't, well you fill in the rest

Comments like "He did (egregious act x, y or z) in order to (prove a point/box the republicans in/etc.)" partake of the argument that everything he does, no matter how contrary to Democratic values, are really part of some grand strategy (i.e., 11-dimensional Chess strategy) to force the GOP's hand. Given the way such "strategy" has worked to date, I'm not buying it.

4. too late
we have allowed SS to be tied to the deficit for the very first time in its history
now when it is said that SS contributes to the deficit it will be true
once it is untethered from its independence and attached to the deficit (as has already been allowed)it becomes just one more govt program that "doesnt pay for itself" even though it always had
SS is over

That's the ticket!! I am sure we should ignore what Obama says, he hasn't said it if it isn't a gift to all of us.
Just our damn lying ears again.

We should stop listening to that Obama guy, he keeps lying about Obama putting stuff on the table!!

30. The only thing I have seen floated was cost cuts on provider side. Republicans want to give you a
Coupon.

You sometimes seem have a real problem with distinguishing between streamlining a program and destroying it. They aren't the same thing. You seem to focus on a single word, and are unable to get beyond the word to the content.

And making changes here and there is not always the "chopping block." It's just as unreasonable to say no part of it can be made more efficient or cut as it is to want to end it altogether.

46. Well, here's a question...
Who brought up Social Security in the first place? Social Security is not "debt". Social Security is not "deficit". Where did this Social Security "debate" come from? Whose "new idea" was it? Dumb-ass Ryan brought up Medicare vouchers but who brought up Social Security cuts?

Here's a related question... who is the "Grand Compromise" with? The "good" half is Obama, who is "focused like a laser" on it. Who is the evil half? The Republican establishment ran for the hills when Perry brought it up at the last debate... Who is pushing like mad to "reform" Social Security, to "defer" payroll taxes, and so forth? Which Republicans would that be?

The emperor has no clothes - he is as naked as a jaybird... but with an "aggressive" new style.... really.

I can see it. Can't you?
