Just When I Thought It Can't Get More Insane
http://thinkprogress.org/2011/01/12/tucson-tea-party-blames-gifford/">Tucson Tea Party Founder Blames Giffords For Getting Shot: ‘The Real Case Is That She Had No Security’

Now I've seen everything. The right wingers have blamed everyone but themselves. Palin has even blamed the Jews.

What's scary is that their base probably buys into their lying rhetoric...welcome to America.

1. In all fairness, Palin didn't blame the Jews. She played the victim card,
holding herself out as just as much a victim as thousands of years of persecuted Jews.

3. Consider the facts...
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/12/blood-libel-sarah-palin_n_808104.html">Blood Libel: Sarah Palin's Claim Recalls Anti-Semitic Legacy

Blood libel refers to a rumor that has fueled anti-semitism and the persecution of Jews for nearly 900 years. According to ReligiousTolerance.org, blood libel began as "an unfounded rumor began in eastern England, that Jews had kidnapped a Christian child, tied him to a cross, stabbed his head to simulate Jesus' crown of thorns, killed him, drained his body completely of blood, and mixed the blood into matzos (unleavened bread) at time of Passover."

Is it your interpretation of Palin's rhetoric that she is complaining that she is being treated like a Jew?

The mere mention of "blood libel" is a smear against those of the Jewish Faith. A smear which was spread by people just like Palin nearly a century ago. It would be tantamount to her saying she was being treated like a "nigger."

7. So You're Saying
That Palin thinks she's the victim...and that she's being treated like a Jew.

How about the truth. Palin is blaming the Jews for the attacks on her just like wacko Mel Gibson blamed his melt down on them. Her record of being an antisemite is public and pervasive.

http://gawker.com/5048188/palin-quoted-antisemitic-author-in-rnc-speech">Palin Quoted Antisemitic Author in RNC Speech

Or how about this.

http://aconstantineblacklist.blogspot.com/2009/11/sarah-palins-anti-semitic-conspiracy.html">Sarah Palin's Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theories

It's commonly understood that statements such as Sarah Palin's prediction that Jews will soon be "flocking to Israel" indicate Palin holds apocalyptic beliefs. What's not understood is that she's closely associated with a religious tendency whose leaders promote anti-Jewish conspiracy theories, including one most commonly used by the Third Reich, in the 1930's and 1940's, to whip up anti-Semitic hatreds: the claim that a worldwide cabal of Jewish bankers manipulates the world economy and preys on working classes.

And how about her church, Wasilla Bible Church, which heavily endorses Jews for Jesus, an organization dedicated to ending the Jewish faith?

You may be fooled but not I...

8. and don't forget THIS
This is from commenter ratfishtim at the Alaska Daily News (from their article on palin's blood libel speech):

Palin will use anti-semitic code whenever it suits her purposes. That is how she got started in politics- she implied that her opponent, whose last name was Stein, was Jewish, even though she knew he was not. People concerned about her fitness for a visit to Israel should contact the Israeli Embassy.

Before Sarah Palin decided to run for the Wasilla mayor's office in 1996 against incumbent John Stein, the Palins and Steins were friends. John Stein had helped launch Palin's political career, mentoring the hockey mom during her 1994 run for City Council, along with veteran council member Nick Carney. Stein's wife, Karen Marie, went to aerobics classes with Palin.

But when she announced her candidacy for Stein's seat, vowing to overturn the city's "old boy" establishment, a different Sarah Palin emerged. "Things got very ugly," recalled Naomi Tigner, a friend of the Steins. "Sarah became very mean-spirited."

Even though Palin knew that Stein is a Protestant Christian, from a Pennsylvania Dutch background, her campaign began circulating the word that she would be "Wasilla's first Christian mayor." ...

It's a little too tame for my tastes but well said...

Clearly Palin was well aware of what affect her political rhetoric was having and how it might motivate disturbed individuals to commit acts of violence.

To imply she is being persecuted by the Jewish press is just flat out insanity...

12. It is part of the eschatology
actually.

They are the new israel, which means the old israel needs to ether die, or convert.

But if you think I am fooled so be it.

The knew exactly what they were saying when they used the term. It was a dog whistle from hell.

9. And he completely missed the point, in a free country, she shouldn't need it.
Except for the inflammatory rhetoric coming from the right, yes, now politicians need security when out in public.

11. There is good reason right wingers don't fear the wackos...
...because they signed them up to be republicans and teabaggers.

Face it, no self respecting normal person with a modicum of intelligence would waste time listening to Palin...
