Stewart: Rick Perry will ‘punch cancer in the f*cking face’

Comedy Central host Jon Stewart Thursday chided MSNBC pundits for declaring that Mitt Romney had defeated Rick Perry in Wednesday night’s Republican presidential debate at the Reagan Library.

“When will the pundits get that this is not a race for the presidency of Pundit-town?” Stewart asked. “Media, you’re thinking about this with the wrong part of your brain — the brain part. They were sure that Perry made a devastating conceptual error based on a ill-chosen framing of a popular entitlement program, and that the audience would rebuke him for his gaffe. Well, guess what? Reagan Library, it ain’t a reading library.”

“The biggest applause line of the night was the mere mention that Rick Perry had executed 234 people,” he noted. “Holy fuckballs!”

“By the way, some of them may be innocent but look at this crowd. This is not your torch and pitchfork angy villagers. These are people with firm opinions on which is the best brand of riding mower. The audience at this debate were the people that give out raisins on Halloween. And yet, they thirst for blood.”

2. the pundits are right, Stewart is wrong on Social Security

Stewart says mockingly, "Yes, Rick Perry definitely destroyed his candidacy with his Ponzi scheme comment and the part of his answer where he says Social Security is broken and must be fixed...", as if Perry is being reasonable and the pundits are making a big deal over nothing.

But Stewart doesn't mention the contradiction in that answer: if it's a Ponzi scheme, why would he want to fix it?

The pundits are right to focus on the extremensess of the Ponzi scheme comment, Stewart is wrong to downplay it and to mock those pundits for that.

3. They thirst for blood....

that was a scary moment when I watched the debate. The moment I was like holy f*** Rick Perry is like Bush only more evil. And the audience applauded while I was horrified. I am only weakly against capitol punishment, the right of course is determined to have me dig my heals in though apparently, because I am sure not going to applaud capitol punishment along with them...

4. I think Stewart is right

If you think then all these candidates are horrible. The likely viewer of this debate cheered the most at the number of dead, put to death by the government. The same government most of them also believe doesn't work, can't ever work and they want as far out of their lives as possible. Yet they want that same government to have power of life and death over them. With that kind of voter, they never wonder how you fix a ponzi scheme. They don't think. They reacted to macho verbato and Perry has it in spades. Romney not so much.
