McDonald’s Japan’s burger line inspired by Americana

McDonald’s Japan has launched a new line of “Big America” burgers inspired by Texas, Idaho, Miami and Manhattan.

This is an encore to McDonald’s Japan’s Big America campaign that ran last year and included burgers evoking the tastes of Texas, New York, California and Hawaii. The series of burgers attributed to the company’s record sales for 2010.

According to Inventor Spot, the chain’s Big America 2 campaign runs through the first quarter of 2011, beginning with the Texas Burger 2.

The original Texas Burger had the most success out of the Big America line. The 2.0 version features chili beans, bacon and onions served on a quarter-pound beef burger with American cheese and grainy mustard relish and a Big Mac-style bun.

1. If they had these here
I might visit McDonald's more often than once every two years. Or maybe not.

3. Pushing beef = more environmental degradation, more loss of the Amazon, and worse health.

5. Tried em' all last year. The Texas Burger 1.0 definately
was my fav. Haven't started round two yet.
After all the rice and ramen, one suffers the occasional
Big Mac attack.

8. It's like the opposite of their "Atomic Chicken."
My aunt talks about that incessantly. They took drumsticks and pushed all the meat up into a mushroom shape and called it "Atomic Chicken." My aunt asked her Japanese friends she was staying with how they could joke about something like that and they said better to laugh than cry.

That burger has the classic pear shape. Seeing it reminded me of the Atomic Chicken idea, only in reverse.

All they need now is a chicken sandwich with the top and bottom meat sizes reversed. They could call it BBC...Big Breasted Chicken.

The possibilities are endless with this idea.
