1. I had good Rx insurance before part D |
what now? retail? they paid the employer who sponsors my insurance loads of money to not drop us completely.the flaw with part D is non bargaining by Medicare, that could be fixed.

3. D has substantial flaws but I think it would be quite dishonest to pretend |
it hasn't improve access and affordability of prescriptions for a lot of seniors.
It needs major renovation but cannot be scrapped. Seniors need a very comprehensive prescription plan.

4. IMO Part D was a poison pill (so to speak) designed to destroy Medicare |
By burdening the program with so much debt that congress would eventually have to disband it, or at least slash benefits severely.

5. Medicare without Rx Drug Coverage Was Not Effective Benefit IMO |
Many chronic diseases can be managed using prescription drugs which should eliminate costly hospitalizations in some cases. The fact of the expense that these drugs adds to the Medicare program have to be addressed. We can start by eliminating the 28% subsidy paid to companies who still provide retiree medical coverage with an Rx benefit. The government thought they had to bribe the companies to keep providing the benefits which is BS since most companies that still provide post 65 retiree medical coverage are required to do so because of bargaining agreements in place with various Unions. Companies for the most part stopped providing voluntary retiree medical benefits years ago. Changes have to be made if we want to keep the same basic program infrastructure that we have today. Negotiating prices with drug manufacturers, means testing for richer seniors, mandatory use of generic drugs can put a dent in the costs but still more actions will be necessary.

7. Medicare Part C, "Medicare Advantage Plans" is flawed |
The insurance companies should be limited to providing Medicare Supplement plans, not the takeover of basic Medicare A and B plans.

8. I'll just make up an argument and attack it. |
And then pretend that you made that argument.
