1. Yes, somber, sad and solemn so excuse the petty, insignificant nature of this complaint in advance: |
|
But am I the only one who is tired of everyone & his bastard brother Bob's covers of that tune?
Not to mention the fact that the admittedly emotional content of the Jeff Buckley version may have been diluted, ever-so-slightly, by it's inclusion in the "Shrek" soundtrack, among 10,000 other places. But I digress.
How about people occasionally using the LEONARD COHEN version~ Is that too much to ask?

2. Buckley's cover was the definitive one...IMHO. |

Esp. during a significant time in our lives ( speaking as one "of a certain age")

3. I like The Dead's versions of a lot of Bob Dylan tunes, but they're still Bob Dylan's tunes. |
|
And like I said, the Buckley version has been played into the ground, not just on "Shrek" but probably in 10 other movies from the past 15 years.
I'm just wondering, again, what the problem is with the Leonard Cohen version- you know, the guy whose song it actually is.
