"Never Forget" vs. "Always Remember"....the propaganda of phrases.. |
|
To me, "Never Forget" has a tone of nastiness - a negative, vengeful frame. Whereas "Always Remember" is a more solemn, graceful and respecting frame.
Other than that on this 10th anniversay of 9/11, what the country has done since that date up until now (regarding foreign policy) couldn't be more disrespectful to the memory of those lost on that day

Which is why I can't bring myself to watch these ceremonies.
There's an exploitative, pro-military tinge to everything I see.

2. "Never Forget" is almost an angry accusation. |
|
You're correct: "Always Remember" is a more gracious exhortation.

3. Well, just remember where "Never Forget" came from... |
|
...and it wasn't 9/11. Rather, something over 50 years earier. Wasn't much call to be gracious about that.

5. Never Forget is a commercial brought to you by the military industrial complex. |

6. We well never forget and always remember because the media will be there... |
|
telling us every damn year what happened.
Until it's been bastardized and beaten down.
Oh, wait.

7. You're never going to get people to support invading foreign countries with a phrase like "always .. |
|
remember".
This isn't Hallmark.
