2. Well, deer hunting season is about to begin. Here in St. Paul, MN |

there will be deer hanging in trees in my neighborhood, as there will in most neighborhoods. Men will cut them up. Neighbors will walk over to see what their neighbor has shot this year and horns will be displayed. It's an annual ritual. St. Paul is a city of 250,000, and deer hang in people's yards during hunting season and are butchered.
But, then again, my Somali refugee neighbors slaughtered a goat in their driveway a couple of weeks ago. They had a party, and roasted the whole carcass on a spit. It was delicious. My wife and I were invited, as were the other neighbors. They don't have the money for a snowblower, so I clear their driveway for them during the winter. It's a neighborly neighborhood here.
People are too far removed from the source of their food, I think.

3. I was thinking the same thing |

Lots of dead deer hung up around the neighborhood here during hunting season.
However, shooting the cow in the neighborhood should get the guy in trouble.

4. Yeah, I have a problem with this. |

Hope they get smart to go so far as to pass an ordinance more-explicitly banning such practice.

Really? Why? Ogden, UT is also a place where people hunt. |

Should they not be allowed to butcher their game at home, either? Is it that much better to buy your dead animals in plastic wrap at the supermarket? I don't think so.

6. Can't have the kiddies know where their burger is coming from! |

Yeah, he probably should have cut it into slightly more manageable bits on site but I honestly don't see what the fuss is all about.
Calling the cops was over the top unless he left the inedible bits to rot in the sun. That might have been a public health hazard and certainly would have been a stinky nuisance.
Then again, I live in a rough neighborhood. We don't call the cops on each other for anything.
