3. Ok perhaps bathroom sex deserves a fighter escort, but peeing too often?
I have to know the details on the decision process to call in the airforce because some people made too many trips to the bathroom. Who is monitoring my bathroom visits? Is a flight attendant logging the time and frequency of each passenger piss? How many times may I pee before the escort arrives? Perhaps Depardieu had the right idea?

4. Really. What a huge waste.
Is there some reason cabin personnel couldn't have knocked on the door or even opened it? And what was a fighter jet going to do about it anyway except shoot the damn passenger jet down? Where was the air marshal? Napolitano had said there would be more marshals flying yesterday than usual.

6. Exactly. Because terrorists are most likely to attack on the day everyone is expecting it.
 We really have not learned anything since 9/11.

8. There aren't nearly enough air marshals to cover all of the 28000 domestec flights per day.

7. You know, why didn't Eric Cantor demand budget offsets and tax cuts before scrambling those jets?

9. It depends on how far and how fast they have to fly.
Like any other vehicle, aircraft burn more the faster they go (afterburner is insane consumption). A F-16 carries about 3150 gal with external tanks max, an F-15 about 9000 gal with external tanks.

10. How else were they to deploy the heat-seeking moisture missile?
(you can thank - or blame - Robin Williams for that one! :-) )
