8. Naive is not a word I would use to describe him
Naivety concedes some kind of innocence.

This pond scum knows exactly what he is doing.

19. I see these posts about his show as promotion of that show
About half a million people total watch that show. That is a small amount for TV. I do not understand the DU fixation on that show, nor the posts which promote it here. The posts that affect a stance that the entire nation is watching this thing promote the thing. Sure, they come here 'angry at Joe' but man, he's a Republican, and how many times can a DUer be 'shocked' that a Republican is a Republican? Earlier today, I read a post about how 'people defend Bush' because all the Republicans on a Republican show defended Bush, the show we are speaking about. How can one feign shock at such a thing again and again? And then come here to say 'see how people are' because of what some Republican operatives said on their favorite Republican Operative Show.

11. Tavis rolled over. He tried to weasle on the meanings of 'lied' and 'misled.'
I suspect he's not used to being ganged up on and got flummoxed.

You can make a point that leading up to the war Bush only spread lies rather than telling them (if you decide to go with the 'Bush was too stupid to be behind all this' theory). After the invasion, the lies, the 'historical revisionatin',' was easier to nail him on.
Here's a good article by Joe Conason documenting Bush lying to us not once but three times on a very key point.

http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/joe_conason/2006/03/31/bush_lies
And when Thomas reminded him that she had asked about Iraq, he said, "I also saw a threat in Iraq. I was hoping to solve this problem diplomatically. That's why I went to the Security Council; that's why it was important to pass 1441, which was unanimously passed. And the world said, disarm, disclose, or face serious consequences -- and therefore, we worked with the world, we worked to make sure that Saddam Hussein heard the message of the world. And when he chose to deny inspectors, when he chose not to disclose , then I had the difficult decision to make to remove him. And we did, and the world is safer for it."

For the third time since the war began three years ago, Bush had falsely claimed that Saddam refused the U.N. weapons inspections mandated by the Security Council. For the third time, he had denied a reality witnessed by the entire world during the four months when those inspectors, under the direction of Hans Blix, traveled Iraq searching fruitlessly for weapons of mass destruction that, as we now know for certain, were not there.

But forget about whether the weapons were there for a moment. The inspectors definitely went to Iraq. They left only because the United States warned them to get out before the bombs started to fall on March 19, 2003. But for some reason the president of the United States keeps saying -- in public and on the record -- that the inspectors weren't there.

14. Scarborough is the most insecure bully I've ever observed.
Born a right-winger in Redneck country (as I was myself), he has to constantly prove he's "smart," "reasonable," and "hip" -- and remind us he was a Congressman. And he has to constantly defend the mindset he grew up with, and can't escape, even working in NYC. He has to defend Bush and Republicans every day. He'll call out Palin, for example, just to show he's "reasonable."

I cringe when he directs his anger at Mika. It is his show, of course, which gives him control over all at the table, including Mika. But he's an angry bully, pure and simple.

And, of course, the Bush administration lied. Whether Bush himself had enough gumption to know he was lying, I don't know. Cheney knew they were lying, and knew why. He knew what he and his buddies wanted.

And didn't they say on the show that intel's hair was on fire about Saddam? Did I miss something? In all I've read about that summer, intel's hair was on fire about Al Qaeda.

As for Meacham, saying it doesn't help to use the word lie, etc. What a pantywaist. (I guess that's a sexist word, but somehow it fits.)

I shouldn't watch, but I wake up with my TV on MSNBC, and sometimes I enjoy the guests and the morning update on what's going on.

15. I saw the segment and here's our problem:
we can't prove that Bush lied. We can amass a lot of information that certainly would lead us to believe that Bush lied, but we don't have rock solid proof. And yes, I've seen the people who stepped forward and talked about how the intelligence didn't fail, it was successfully headed off. The problem is that the Richard Clarkes et al can all be broad brushed as trying to cover their own asses on 9/11.

So as much as we know we are right on this, we don't have the cold, hard proof needed. We can connect the dots all we want, but w/o more we endlessly lose...

16. every reference to GWB and 9/11 should be followed by a reference to 8/6/11
and the PDB that Condi mishandled.

Thanking President Bush for his incompetence is the Patriotic thing to do, I suppose.
