Crazy Rob Ford's Toronto Sale: ALL PUBLIC ASSETS MUST GO !!!

from the Toronto Star:

Toronto’s city manager is recommending selling or closing the Toronto Zoo, Riverdale Farm and smaller zoos at High Park and Centre Island, according to leaks from Mayor Rob Ford’s office Monday.

Joe Pennachetti will also recommend unloading the city’s three performing arts centres – the Sony Centre, the St. Lawrence Centre and the Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts, according to media reports.

He’ll also recommend unspecified cuts to library services and further study of recommendations to sell off some of the city’s 10 long term care homes and 56 childcare centres.

The recommendations were among dozens of drastic cuts suggested by consultant KPMG as part of the city’s “core service review” to determine which services the city could halt in its bid to fix its finances. ...........(more)

The complete piece is at: http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1052303--report-recommends-selling-zoos-and-theatres-cutting-libraries?bn=1

1. It's a shame that our fiscal insanity is spreading to the "good" parts of the world.
America: home of fairy tales that people *ACTUALLY BELIEVE*.

4. I think Ford the Hutt was propelled by the former suburbs that are now part

........ of Toronto (Etobicoke, North York etc). The vote on the left was split between Smitherman and Pantalone.
