Mississippi Ballot iniitiative: redefines "personhood " as "from moment of fertilization"

The Supreme Court of Mississippi on Thursday ruled that an initiative seeking to redefine personhood can be placed on the November 2011 general election ballot.
The initiative, Measure 26 would amend the Mississippi Constitution to define the word "person" or "persons" to include "every human being from the moment of fertilization, cloning, or the functional equivalent thereof."

Personhood USA
http://www.personhoodusa.com/
praised the ruling , saying "Mississippians volunteered thousands of hours of their time to ensure that voters would have the right to vote on this prolife amendment."
( Their web site says they are active all 50 states)

Colorado voters struck down a similar ballot initiative in November 2010 that would have amended the state's constitution to extend rights to fetuses and would have effectively outlawed abortion.

each month during their period (if sexually active and not on B.C.), it looks like the funeral industry will be hopping! Will there be religious burial ceremonies in backyards involving feminine napkins and tampons with "dead People" stuck to them? What a bunch of fucking idiots.

FYI: Even Thomas Aquinas rejected this in the Medieval era based on meticulous research he had done with the development of the fetus.

21. I think I'm going to press the Mississippi Attorney General...
...to begin a manhunt for the states inordinately large number of serial killers after this law passes. You know...the entire half of the population called 'women'?

Jesus Pogosticking Christ, these fuckers are stupid. :nuke:

2. So do you have to get a passport and ID for a potentially conceived human?
Does this mean an illegal woman can insist on staying in the country because she possibly contains an American citizen?

Seriously, this short-sighted crap has all sorts of potential.

13. Good point.. There are implications for...
taxes, the census, how many tickets you need to buy to get into the movies...

Will every miscarriage require a coronor to rule on cause of death, with potential police involvement if the "death" is ruled suspicious?

Will everyone who was born prior to the law have to add 9 months to their age, with "Date of Birth" ages becoming obsolete?

22. Time to tie up their court system on all of those ideas,
and any others y'all can imagine. Put them on the defensive in legally justifying this idiocy. Snow them under enough and maybe they'll withdraw it, especially as unenforceable.

23. You know, this law could allow someone to challenge
the corporate "personhood", like on the grounds of abortion being legal in federal law ;)

Corporations are conceived/fertilized when they incorporate. Therefore, they can also be aborted, perhaps through charter revocation. We just have to figure out how to cause a corporate miscarriage }(
