Walter Fauntroy, Feared Dead in Libya, Returns Home—Guess Who He Saw Doing the Killing

Former U.S. Congressman Walter Fauntroy, who recently returned from a self-sanctioned peace mission to Libya, said he went into hiding for about a month in Libya after witnessing horrifying events in Libya’s bloody civil war – a war that Fauntroy claims is backed by European forces.

Fauntroy’s sudden disappearance prompted rumors and news reports that he had been killed.

....

Fauntroy watched French and Danish troops storm small villages late at night beheading, maiming and killing rebels and loyalists to show them who was in control.

He doesn't seem to have taken a camera with him on this mission, or know exactly where these villages were, or explain how he came to be in them when the French and Danes stormed in. He doesn't offer an explanation as to how no other person seems to be have been a witness to this either, or how it has not even come to the attention of the Gaddafi regime who you would think would have an interest in publicising these events.

So for me at least this story needs more evidence.

3. Hmm...a very odd fellow, that one.
An Anti on same-sex marriage, and a Gaddafi supporter, he is still a staunch civil rights activist. It's hard to pin this one down, so I think more evidence is needed for this claim.

4. "Self-sanctioned peace mission."
And he intended to bring peace, how?

5. I guess he thinks if the rebels can make baseless claims, he can too?
Maybe he is looking for a cut of the oil action too?

6. Problem I have with the story, is it doesn't sound like
something the French or the Danes would do. It just doesn't pass the smell test.

8. So French&Danes were killing rebels and blaming rebels? And 90% Libyans love Qadafi? Huh
Fauntroy watched French and Danish troops storm small villages late at night beheading, maiming and killing rebels and loyalists to show them who was in control.
.
.
.
The French and Danish were ordering the bombings and killings, and giving credit to the rebels.
.
.
.
“Contrary to what is being reported in the press, from what I heard and observed, more than 90 percent of the Libyan people love Qaddafi,” Fauntroy said. “We believe the true mission of the attacks on Qaddafi is to prevent all efforts by African leaders to stop the recolonization of Africa.

10. Check his bank account.
Gaddafi funded Louis Farrakhan to the tune of millions; perhaps he was doing the same with Fauntroy.

Ludicrous though this is, BTW, it's by no means the most ridiculous theme on pro-Gaddafi twitter feeds. One prevailing view is that the scenes we've seen from Tripoli over the last few weeks were staged in Qatar.

12. Denmark?
I'll admit I know little about Denmark but I do not recall their military having such a reputation.

13. BTW, even the bit about him being "in hiding" and "rumored dead" is a lie.
Fauntroy was trapped in the Rixos Hotel with a number of journalists for several days after the Gaddafi regime fell; they all left it together when the guards realized the game was up. Fauntroy wasn't "hiding" anywhere, and does anyone here remember rumors about him?
