George Stephanopoulos Too Short for Morning TV?

George Stephanopoulos
Too Short for Morning TV?
9/12/2011 7:03 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

George Stephanopoulos could lose his "Good Morning America" anchor chair within a year to the news reader who towers over him ... this according to network sources.

The buzz at ABC is that Josh Elliott -- a former ESPN sports anchor who has been the GMA news reader since March -- is on the fast track for the anchor seat. Josh filled in on "World News Tonight" last week and network suits are in love with him.

The network will deny it's contemplating a change, but that's not what we're hearing.

The ratings at GMA have actually gone up a bit with George, so why would the network mess with the show? Our sources say the suits think Josh and Robin Roberts have better chemistry and look better together.\

6. They are closer than ever to the Today Show
And I think it's a combo of all 5 of them that is making the show better. That includes the :eyesroll: short George S.

7. Cronkite was little, too.
I saw him in person. I'm 5'2 and he was shorter than me. Who cares the height?

8. Six reasons why tall people are better than you:
http://www.grumpychimp.com/stuff/tall-people-are-better.php

3. Tall People are More Attractive

A study at the University of Gdansk in northern Poland concluded that the ideal height of an attractive woman was 5'9 and 6'2 for a man

6. Women Prefer Tall Men

A recent study shows that taller men are less likely to be bachelors and are more likely to have children. In fact, men with children are 1.2 inches taller than childless men. The reason behind this? Women view tall men as healthier and more likely to protect and provide.

So, you're not tall. What can you do about it?

I'm 5' 11" by the way not 6' 2".. :(

11. Objection (I am 5'3")
OK, that's enough from you mutants. It's time for us to take over.

After 6000 years of civilization under the control of predominantly tall men, we have resource wars, pollution, selfish business leaders and corrupt politicians.

Obviously, the world would be a much better place under us. (Well, we couldn't possibly make it worse, could we?)

Just think. If Napoleon had been successful in Russia, the greatest beneficiaries would have been the Russian people themselves. Serfdom would have ended and industrialization begun decades before either actually took place. Unfortunately, the Russian people had to suffer under the Romanovs for another century and then seven and a half decades under the Communists. Obviously, these were tall people, as can be plainly seen from the mess they made.

We is we short people who are better than you. Besides Napoleon, Picasso and (obviously) Jesus were short men. And don't believe that anti-American, pro-mutant propaganda about Lincoln being 6'4". That was put out by a bunch of mutant slave owners and secessionists. Lincoln, obviously, was short.

Short people of the world, unite. You are superior. You have a world to win.

9. Remember, this is the network that made Harry Reasoner sit on a phone book
so Barbara Walters wouldn't appear to tower over him. Seriesly.

12. He's wonky, should be the anchor. SAWYER is gone a lot, doesn't do much

"reporting," and her substitute (don't know his name) David MUIR is really good, though also a bit oriented away from hard news.

All that said as something of a fellow shorty, George's height ought to be as much respected as other characteristics like weight and appearance. The co-host, whassername Robin ROBERTS *did* seem to "look down" at him in terms of her being in control, perhaps for HER needing to be taken seriously. But he adjusted to the cooking and such and has been fine.
