What the Republicans want to do to Social Security is a Ponzi Scheme. |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-12-11 05:05 PM by Avalux
They'll try to convince everyone SS needs to be overhauled because it isn't working and will go bankrupt; they'll try to convince everyone that our money is better invested elsewhere (like the stock market!).
If successful, and elected to take control of the presidency and majority in Congress, they will pull off the largest transfer of wealth in this country's history.
They will steal OUR money, and give it to themselves and their buddies. We, the working class American people, will have nothing to show for the many years we paid into SS.
THAT, my dear DUers, is the Ponzi Scheme.

2. Like everything else they do or say - think opposite |
|
They call the Social Security a ponzi scheme which if interpreted correctly would support your suggestion.

6. Dem's do not parrot GOP talking points on SS and Med.... |
|
I think your taking it a bit far. Maybe you would prefer the present political situation to be handled in a more aggressive way and I understand that, but to say we parrot republicans is just too much I think.

I'd say at least 95% of them are not in the top 1%, which is where the money will be transferred. Next time you get into an argument with one, just tell them you yourself are in the top 1% and they may just open their wallet and tell you to help yourself.
