Liberals inch ahead of Tories in two new polls (Ontario)

from the Toronto Star:

What a difference a week makes.

Dalton McGuinty’s Liberals have taken the lead over Tim Hudak’s Progressive Conservatives in two new public opinion polls six days into the Oct. 6 election campaign.

A Nanos Research-Globe and Mail-CTV survey has McGuinty at 38.1 per cent, Hudak at 34.7 per cent, NDP Leader Andrea Horwath at 24.3 per cent and Green Leader Mike Schreiner at 2.7 per cent.

The phone poll of 507 people has a margin of error of 4.9 percentage points and it was done Saturday and Sunday. ........(more)

Looking at all of the party plans.
The Liberals want more taxes! They've already snuck in millions in new fees.
They also want to ignore native born Ontario citizens and help employers hire foreign workers(until they get citizenship they ARE foreigners).

ChangeBook may not be perfect but it's a thousand times better then the Tax Man.

7. I'm no fan of priviatizing government services.
Education, health care, hydro, etc - should all be government run.

Things like phone, TV, internet, non-essential services should be in the hands of the private sector.

3. Mr. 39 percent Canuck Bush is not too popular.
Clearly people are having second thoughts. Another term for the Liberals in Ontario surely shows great reservation about Canuck Bush.

4. Progressive conservatives? Tories? Liberals? New Democrats?
Awfuckit. Who can keep it all straight?

That's one of the nice things about America. There's only two choices and the most powerful corporations and special interests decide for us. It's easy street I tell ya.

5. The PC Party here
is way left wing of the Republican Party. I'd almost call them centrist.

have the federal government and the municipal government, and people in Ontario hated Mike Harris and his neocon engineering so much they will not allow a conservative trifecta to occur, by letting the Cons win provincially too.

9. Whatever they call themselves, the
various parties and candidates, I hope the citizens of Ontario have enough sense to vote for the most leftist of the group. You certainly wouldn't want your country to become more like the U.S.
