Repugs are "pro-life" because it helps with their economic agenda |

Edited on Mon Sep-12-11 10:53 PM by Tony_FLADEM
Being against abortion allows Republicans to exhibit empathy and get behind a moral issue. This helps with their economic agenda. Being against abortion allows them to de-fund nutrition, health and education programs for babies after they are born. This in turn allows them to cut taxes for the rich which is all they care about.

4. Yes, they get millions of votes because of the abortion issue |
|
All a Republican Politician has to do is say they are against abortion and that's good enough for many voters.

3. Which would make sense if they were "solely" against abortion. |
|
They are not. They are against birth control of any type.
They are against anything which "allows" women to be comfortable with sex without having to worry about "consequences."
There is more to this picture than you're seeing.

5. I haven't really heard any Republicans say they are against birth control |
|
Have any of the presidential candidates say they are against abortion?

9. "They" haven't said it...keep watching the laws and the pharmacists. |
|
"They" will wait until it is "safe" to actually agree with what is happening "on the ground."
Watch for "personhood" laws, e.g. Mississippi, et. al.

8. I remember when Bush won in 2004(?) Paul Begala said to a GOP pundit - okay he |
|
has the house, senate and executive...when is he going to make abortions illegal? Implying that abortion is just a tool and the GOP would never want that tool to go away - so they will never make abortion ilegal.
