"I never knew..." "No one told me..." "Who could have thought..." |

"I didn't realize..."
Yes, you could have known. Yes, you could have listened. Yes, you could have thought.
But you wrote it off to conspiracy theories and extremists and radical -insert your favorite leftists to hate-.
And now you realize they were right...they knew...they told you. You chose to ignore it.
Congratulations!
Welcome to the 21st Century.

1. Yup. They're probably even dusting off "we thought they were bakery ovens!" |

...for when things ratchet up even further...

3. Thank you -- you've spoken volumes here! |

You wrote: "Yes, you could have known. Yes, you could have listened. Yes, you could have thought."
To which I would add a couple more: You could have chosen not to avert your eyes from that which was disturbing; you could have chosen to step out of your comfort zone in order to see the world from another perspective.

4. We've had an environmental movement fighting corporate polluters for a century and a half. |
|
They told anyone who would listen. Some listened, many didn't. Most still don't.

5. The masses don't realize it yet, and won't until it's gone |

much further. And as saras said, environmental concerns haven't been understood or acknowledged -- and even today they're trying to do away with some of the meager regulations we DO have in place!
I don't think the extent of what's happening will be understood until it's written in the history books.

have been (and I even used the dreaded :eyes: smilie!)
I've had my coffee now, so I'll answer truthfully. As I was typing my post, I was thinking the very same thing. But despite what we were taught in school, sanitized and embellished, the truth IS still available for those who want it. I'm hoping that will still hold true in those future times.

... but I was being a little facetious in my post - trying to poke - So I probably deserved it. Though, I do have genuine concerns that history is being re-written with a wing-nut flair. So I don't suppose they would have any problem doing the same moving forward. The truth will be out there - but if we're headed for an Idiocracy, we might have to rely on cryogenics (or is it Cryonics?) and frozen unlikely heroes to save us... Yeah, I'm a little worried.
