Thanks for setting me strait on Sheriff Dupnik. I had no idea that the sheriff let him escape purposely so that he would go on a killing spree. And as Rush points out, the sheriff knew that there were threats from Loungner to Giffords already.

Rush is kind enough to let us conclude that the sheriff wanted Giffords shot. Maybe Dupnik wanted to run for her vacant house seat? Anyway Rush, It all makes sense to me now.
