1. I Weiner Happened to his district
and this is push back for his hubris. I am sure there is not just one answer as there were certainly issues, campaigns, individuals and all involved, but I am thinking that it could just be a good kick in the backside for his actions.

17. Weiner was a moron for tweeting his privates
The political price the party leadership would have had to pay to support him was too high. He had to go.

This election should be a wakeup call with respect to Jewish voters. They aren't happy about our policy in the Middle East. They are an important constituency and we ignore them at our peril.

30. There is never just one answer
it is always a combination of things as I previously mentioned, campaigns, individuals, issues and I firmly believe the hubris of The Esteemed Mr. W who created the situation in the first place with his actions. Had he not been so "Tweety" he would still be in Congress and there would be no thread discussing his seat being won by the GOP.

36. I think if prudes hadn't forced him to resign, we wouldn't be talking about a puke taking his seat
Anthony Weiner did not break any laws and was no more naked then the male models in a sears catalog.

31. Read Much?
Try reading my post then?

He was part of the problem and the loss was a combination of factors as I stated, however had Mr. W not been so "Tweety" this never would have been an issue, now would it? So yeah, it was hubris......

2. Combo of SHITTY Dem candidate from OUTSIDE the district + SHITTY Dem campaign + SHITTY GOP use of
ethnic issues (Brooklyn conservative Jewish voters went overwhelmingly for the RePUKE because of Obama's speech about pre-1967 Israel borders, and also the so called "Ground Zero Mosque" issue) + SHITTY economic situation + SHITTY VERY LOW TURNOUT OF OLD NARROW SOCIALLY CONSERVATIVE VOTERS = SHITTY Old GOPuke Wins

4. We failed...Miserably
There are a few eye brow raisers, however. Ed Koch campaigned for the Republican, Koch said that it was time the Democrats send an unmistakable message to President Obama. Koch is a the former Democratic Mayor of New York.

Thats a pretty clear message.

6. Yes, a Democrat lost in Brooklyn -- but I don't blame Breitbart, I blame Weiner --
This never had to happen.

I just happen to have this weird idea that duly-elected Congressmen who have been married for LESS THAN A YEAR to a NEWLY PREGNANT bride shouldn't be sending dick pics willy-nilly to random young women. I guess I'm just old-fashioned that way. Call me a "puritan" if you must.

What this tells me is that if Weiner had somehow been able to hang on, he would have lost us a LOT more than just ONE seat in the House in 2012.

But I guess I'm just old-fashioned -- I don't see Red Bull as a necessary part of a balanced diet, I don't have a tribal armband (nor a tramp stamp) and I'd never name my children Hayden, Jayden, Aden, Zayden or Quayden. Or Neveah. And I've never Twitted dick pics. And if I were a Congressman, I would be extra careful not to do so (especially if I was married for LESS THAN A YEAR to a NEWLY PREGNANT bride -- yadda yadda, de blah de blah.)

9. Politicians are arrogant practically by definition...
Now you might be able to argue that Weiner was somewhat more arrogant than your average politician but calling a politician arrogant is very much like calling water wet.

13. No, the party does. The district supported him but the Turd Way wanted a more meek
and malleable person in the position. Less boat rocking and more corporate friendly.

I'll take Weiner over most in the party.

29. Yep
The district wanted him to stay but the Puritanical wing of the Democratic party wanted him out. I dont doubt many stayed home because they were disgusted by having a moron to vote for instead of who they elected.

23. The seat in Congress may disappear.
New York is supposed to lose two seats in the House.

http://www.npr.org/2011/06/10/137108462/weiner-has-supporters-but-district-might-leave-him

But even if Weiner's constituents continue to support him, it's not clear whether he will have a district to run in. New York state is slated to lose two congressional seats before the 2012 election. By tradition, one of those seats would come from Republican strongholds upstate, and one from heavily Democratic New York City.

Turner linked Weprin and the Dems to it, when most New Yorkers(and most Americans) oppose building it.

Traitors to America need to be rounded up. Start there, then banks, wall street, the media, Republicans, Oil companies and global corporations. Lock em all up, throw away the key and take America back. Nationalize the lot of them. Just dreaming................
