Everybody cheering the demise of
the GOP's chances in 2012 are whistling past the graveyard.

You are overestimating their problems and underestimating the lengths they will go to in order to win(again). You are also underestimating the Dems problems and overestimating their will to hammer the GOP with the right message until they are gone and out of it.

Take the clips of the cheering about executions and letting someone die because of lack of health care and make a devastating clip. Intersperse it with their direct quotes. Show it some at first and increase it so the shock doesn't wear off.

Negative campaigning works. I wish the process was different and that it was cleaner and focused more on the issues and the truth. Those 2 qualities are already buried so far down that it would take ground penetrating radar to even find them. The process isn't going to change any time soon. If you truly think this election is one of the last stands or the last stand, then you better hope they have learned not to take a butter knife and napkin to a street fight.

Frame the message and get it out now and at least get ahead of the curve. Just the words jobs won't do anymore. It has been used enough without any action to back it up. Give the voters a stark choice. Remember that what they are really hearing is not what you might think or hope.

“Do or do not... there is no try.”

1. You are quite correct.
Time and again, the best way to win an election is to smear the heck out of your opponent.

2. I share your concern. The old adage is true: "when Democrats vote, Democrats win". It is
a get out the vote effort.

3. Don't forget...they own the voting machines.
Thank you, George Bush.

4. I'm not sure I'd even call that negative campaigning
They are the ones that are acting the way they do, after all. No one made them cheer death sentences. If we use that as a soundbite we will just be reporting what did happen.

5. Remember the Swift Boaters.

Rove or some other devious spin master on their side will manufacture something so outrageous that it will even things up for them.

7. Then we should call them out on it.
What every forgets about the "meek shall inherit the earth" is that what you get is mostly 6x3 foot plots.

8. Dems don't do hardball.
And Obama DEFINITELY doesn't do hardball (at least not on Republican opponents).

I agree with you, it's what is needed. But most of our Democratic leaders are so cowered by the cable news media that they just cannot bear the thought of a news cycle that portrays them as being mean or negative.

9. It's all coming apart now
I know, forget about polls - good advice now, isn't it?
...and then there's NY, voting in a puke in a historically liberal district.
It's all bad news now, particularly when we see the field the pukes have - we should be cruising with that kind of opposition.
The tide against the President is rising I fear. The pukes have accomplished their goal of ruining the economy beyond repair.
