media spin on the weiner house seat win |
|
a sharp rebuff to President Barack Obama? fuck m$nbc In a sharp rebuff to President Barack Obama, Republican Bob Turner won a special House election in New York Tuesday night, giving the GOP a district that Obama had carried with 55 percent in 2008 and which Democrats had held for years.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44501985/ns/politics/#.TnCky3Ptjf8

1. I don't believe any of it. Not as long as the GOP owns all the voting machines. |
|
Think about it...if the DCCC or George Soros owned the voting machines, would the Republicans accept ANY Dem victory? Of course not. But that's what we're facing now. The GOP knew the demographics were against them, so they spent tens of millions to secure the voting process. There is NO WAY, demographically, that Republicans can win even Dog Catcher races in these largely Dem districts, yet they do. The only change? They also own the voting booths. Curious.

6. Israel Policy , Economy |
|
Many have a strong identification with Israel. And a piss poor economy leads to a general frustration at all things.

The voters in Weiner's district are strongly pro-Isreal. They are pretty unhappy with Obama's handling of our Mid-East policy. Everyone is unhappy about the economy. When voters are unhappy, this is how they send the message. Keep ignoring that reality and blame the voting machines - that's really brilliant.

14. Here is where the logic derails... |

Vote Republican? They've voted Dem for decades, now they think the Republicans who caused this mess are suddenly their savior? Really? You really believe that? So what if they hate Weiner, they were getting rid of him anyway. Why would they vote Republican? Because of Obama's Mid-East policy? Like their local Rep could seriously influence that policy?
Okay, maybe people really did vote that way because of that. They are fucking stupid.

In 1992, Whitman almost won Bill Bradley's Senate seat in NJ. Reason? NJ voters were furious that Florio had pushed through an increase in state income tax a year or so earlier. Florio lost in a landslide the next year. NJ voters were sending the Democrats a message that still resonates today.
Sorry, but we lost this one; it wasn't stolen. I've always believed in not losing the lesson, even if I've lost the contest. Blowing this loss off the way you did will only insure more of them in the future.

trying to find some real significance where there is none. "Bellweather" my a**! :eyes: Is absolutely EVERY single race supposed to be a referendum on President Obama? Sometimes we just happen to have a piss-poor nominee and/or a scandal that cripple us.

8. What - it isnt? You better check your reality watch. |
|
Of course that is what it was. If this economy and job market does not get turned around, we won't win a single damn election in 2012. The Weiner house seat loss was ALL ABOUT OBAMA. It is not spin. Face the truth or face a hell of a lot more losses in 2012.

15. Some people don't want to hear the truth. |

Just like 2010 "wasn't about Obama".
Prepare to have our asses handed to us in 2012. Why? Because Obama isn't a leader and he doesn't believe in Democratic Policy.
