UPDATE: 24 Injured in Structural Collapse at San Ysidro Border Crossing
24 people were injured Wednesday when scaffolding being used for renovations collapsed at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, authorities reported.

The accident was reported around 10:45 a.m., Luque said. Northbound traffic has been closed indefinitely and diverted to the Otay Mesa and Tecate border crossings.

Northbound pedestrian traffic and pedestrian bridge were reopened at 6:30 p.m. after inspections concluded the building's integrity was not compromised in the incident.

The collapse was from lane eight across other lanes to the pedestrian processing building, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said.

1. If none of the 24 (regardless of nationality) have insurance...
do we just let them lie there with their open fractures--bones sticking out?

I hope they all are ok, but, obviously I still can't get that audience's response out of my mind from the RETHUG debate.

All I will say HERE... is if I could count the times I drove under that over ten years.

4. Well, since the scaffolding was the problem, you had nothing to worry about.
