A question for any republican that might be reading this ... |
|
If you truly believe in limited/small government and if you believe in individual freedom ...
then how the hell can you think that YOU and/or The GOVERNMENT should have any say in what goes on in the bedrooms of American citizens and how the hell can you think you should have any say over what American women can and can not do with their own bodies?
Until 'you' can answer that question - I don't want to hear anything else that you have to say!
p.s. This is what perplexes me the most about republicans and I have never heard the question answered with any response that makes sense!

3. The first part of your question you are right 100% |
|
The second part is a bit more vague.

4. What do you mean vague? |
|
The republicans want to have a say over:
when a female can and can not have an ABORTION, when a female can and can not obtain the morning after pill, which pharmacists have to and do not have to fill a women's prescription for birth control,
And in the case of Texas Governor Perry the republicans believe they can force females to be forced to be injected with the HPV vaccination.

6. What I mean is this... |
|
Even libertarians are split on the abortion issue. On one hand (to them, not me), the government should let the woman decide. On the other hand, if they truly believe it's a life, they think it deserves protection. And even the most hard-core anti-government nut supports laws against the taking of an innocent life.
Just to re-clarify, these are not my views in the least. I have a rather strange view-point (I'm anti-Roe vs. Wade, yet pro-choice). I think if you are going to say a person can do what they want with their own body (right to privacy, as in Roe vs. Wade), then you have to at least be consistent. Why can't I use steroids? It's my body. Why can't I smoke? Why can't I sell a lung? The pukes aren't consistent on this, but hey, neither are we mostly either.
The Texas governor is an idiot. Forced HPV vaccination is insane.

7. The Democratic platform is based on a women's RIGHT of CHOICE ... |
|
regarding REPRODUCTION.
I don't care what the Libertarians say.
The issues is WOMEN'S reproductive rights - don't confuse the issue with 'steroids' etc.
You have a RIGHT to smoke - it is a legal product.
You have a right to donate organs - which is different then 'selling them'.
Those issues have nothing to do with a WOMEN'S right to her own reproduction decisions: such as abortion and birth control.
How can you be anti-Roe v. Wade and still be pro-choice? That makes no sense to me.

Drives me nuts too. The hypocrisy levels are off the charts. Why won't they just turn into their natural animal forms and hit the pastures?
