Jim "Crude" Cramer just went for it on Morning Joe.
Morning Joe is already at it. Jim Cramer just called for more oil drilling as the only way to jolt the economy. Joe Scarborough is ignoring Obama on jobs.

I will dump the entire MSNBC lineup (Except Maddow) if Current launches a Progressive network.

1. I've been wondering about Olbermann's plans for Current
Regarding new hosts and stuff. I'd like to see Thom Hartmann get a slot. Have you heard anything about that?

2. Just that they were planning an entire network around Keith.
I'd like to see them use Garofalo in a way that really uses her intellect beyond the "standard" interview. Hartmann would be excellent, Spitzer would be a great addition.

3. For the record, I hope Current leaves Vanguard just as it is.
It's one of the best series ever. Plus I think I have feelings for Adam, lol.

5. I watched it a few times
One that stands out was about the guy from Alabama that went to Africa and joined al-Shebab. I guess I would call it fascinatingly depressing. Hey, but it wasn't boring. :)

6. Vanguard
I think it's the most informative, best investigative journalism that we have seen in a very long time. The issues they are covering are tailor made for me and my entire extended family as well as friends.

Check out the Climate/Greenland episode, its incredible. The newest one on Tiger farms is hard to watch, but important to be aware of. I loved the Blue fin tuna episode as well. So, so good!

4. agreed on all counts
Spitzer is scary smart. And Janenean (I can never remember how to spell her name) is too. I hope Keith is taking notes.

7. I think you did spell her name right.
I hope they are taking notes as well. I'd really love to see some of these personalities used in a way that shows how educated on the issues they are. I loved watching Garofalo destroy the panel on Fox and Friends. Thats how she should be applied.

Elliot is a real fighter, that fiery side of him should be his angle. What was that Parker/Spitzer crap? Kathleen is also very smart but CNN did a horrible job of playing to their strengths.

Ezra Klien has had my attention lately as well. I see him upping his game.

10. I quit watching MSNBC a few months ago
Mostly because I was following international news, mainly on the Arab Spring, and while the network did have some good correspondents reporting, CNN seemed to have more correspondents on the ground and more coverage. I was never crazy about Wolf Blitzer, but his 'Situation Room' on CNN features a lot of good international reporting.

And CNN's coverage extended beyond the regular news shows into Anderson Cooper's 'AC/360,' which featured terrific reporting on Libya and Syria from correspondents from Libya's Alhurra TV, The Times of London, Sky News, and other sources, as well as CNN's own correspondents. At times, the coverage even extended to Piers Morgan's show.

So CNN is my cable news source now--it's on the TV, while Al Jazeera English always livestreams on the computer. Besides that, I get U.S. and foreign media sources on the net--along with DU, of course.

And I've never missed MoJo for an instant, that's for sure (though I know I can count on Malaise for the highlights (or lowlights) :) .

11. One Point Worth Merit...
I agree...Cramer's so full of himself he needs an hourly transfusion to keep the bullshit flowing. One thing he did mention that is hurting both this administration and any possible economic recovery is the reality that there aren't job that can be created out of thin air. Infrastructure jobs are well and good if you have a background in the construction industry or a company that does the supplying. Our economy has turned into a service one...people who worked at desks not drill presses I don't see many solutions on that front. Retrain? To do what?

The term "jobs" has become generic while much of unemployment is very specific for the individual. How does an infrastructure bill help a former customer service rep or writer or bank clerk or real estate agent who've seen their jobs vanish with no signs of coming back? How about those who are over 40 that are turning virtually unemployable due to age...especially if they have any kind of health situation. Saying "jobs" doesn't cut it...and this is a point this administration is missing. They're going for some big grand slam home run...and trying to do it with no one on base...

17. Consider the big picture...
... An infrastructure bill employs the construction industry, suppliers and material manufacturers directly. It also employs accounting, legal, engineering, government, lending and insurance offices semi-directly. Throw in fuel suppliers, tech services, food services, - Hell, work boot, hard hat and glove manufacturers - and suddenly you have employed Americans with a little more money in their pockets. They buy new TVs, new phones, new clothes, and new cars. They even tip better. Add to that the fact that we have better roads and bridges, and transportation - a vital ingredient for economic prosperity - is vastly improved. Not to mention we have better schools in which to educate future generations.

Its a good bill - at least in principle (caveat-I have not read it). I wish we had spent the 2009 stimulus money on something like this.

18. Well And Good For Some...
I understand how this is supposed to ripple, but that's a lot of rippling involved here through what is just one part of the economy. This does little for those in the "information" sector...the part of the economy that has taken the biggest hit in the past decade. It was the loss of those jobs that triggered a lot of the downward spiral we're facing now.

I'm all for passing any stimulus at this point...and also agree that this administration underestimated how bad things were in '09 and went too small with the first stimulus, but in the big picture I don't see what's being proposed helping a lot of people who need the help the most. Seems a day doesn't go by where there's a post here from a person whose either lost their job or has been out of work for extended periods and don't see any help on the horizon. Not all jobs are the same...and when that term gets thrown around I am very suspect as we've seen the definition redifined downwards over the past 30 years.

once Obama is out, either in 2012 or 2016, the death party will take over and put the finishing touches on their total destruction policy.

They are irrelevant, Rachael included. You can't be a network that's two-faced and relevant.
