Playing fire with fire are there any GOP states where Dems can threaten to change allocation of EV? |
|
The logical choice would be Texas, but, of course, there is a GOP governor there and legislature. But there are democratic congressional districts in cities and latino districts that could go Democratic.
Maybe Missouri? at least there is a Democratic governor there.
I'm just so sick of these GOP power moves and the Democrats always seem so powerless. Except here in WI we have recalled 2 GOP state senators and will recall the governor next year.

2. Republicans control the MO legislature |
|
The problem is that last year was an anti-Democratic wave election. The GOP now controls several blue states, but I do not believe that any red states are controlled by Democrats other than West Virginia. But all three of the districts there are solidly Republican, so it might not do any good.

6. 1. FL has a Republican Governor |
|
2. Both chambers of the FL have GOP super-majorities.
3. FL actually voted for Obama in 2008, so splitting it's EV's may hurt the President rather than help him.

5. Probably not since the Disaster of 2010. |
|
Which is why some of us were advocating earlier that the Democrats come out for reforming the way we choose the Electors. But since that might have threatened the hegemony of the two-party Duopoly, our advice was roundly ignored.
