It appears the republican strategy is working..
Simply allow no bills to pass that could possibly boost the economy for the middle and lower classes.. watch the economy go down in flames and blame it all on Obama.. with a compliant media and a democrat party to divided to unite.. ( even with 60 senators we could not get REAL democratic ideas thru the 60 vote hurdle .. thank you Mr Nelson and Lieberman!).. sigh...

2. You know why it works?
Our party is so busy trying to get any deal they can they dont have time to call them out on their bullshit.

Imagine if it was the other way around, and the Democrats had used this sleazy tactic just before the 06 election to make Bush look bad... the GOP would have been on the MSM 24/7 talking about the obstructionist Dems.

4. It works because the leadership of our party gets its money from the same place the Republicans do.
Wall Street, Big Banks, Big Oil, Big Pharma and the rest of the corporate world that makes billions in profits exploiting cheap labor in the third world. What possible reason do you have to think that the Democrats want to do the right thing but are simply "outmaneuvered" by the Republicans? Gee, Republicans in the majority? They get what they want. Republicans in the minority? They get what they want. Did you ever stop to think that they get what they want because that's what everyone at the top wants?

6. Republicans are reptilian. Selfishness is their instinct..
I hate it. Now I see how the horrible things in this world have happened.

Torture, slavery, kidnapping, rape and the denial of equal rights and personal compassion. Even accountability disappears when they only see their desires as important.

It will take a real awakening to change our culture so that we no longer tolerate their selfishness.

10. Agree. Do not know any Democrats who call it the "democrat party".
It is my understanding that the term "democrat party" is an insult. Perhaps times have changed but as a life long Democrat I Will continue to use the term "Democratic Party".

26. ditto on the sigh. if the OP message was anti-Obama
you wouldn't be hearing all this outrage about spelling.

why don't you address the Points in the post rather than accusing anyone who types in 'democrat' party instead of democratic party to be some kind of secret agent nefarious republican bagger in disguise to overthrow DU.

DU's already been overthrown.

See: Lakoff.

I'm pretty sure you know it, too.

If you don't, you should.

Either way, yeah, I did blow through your "point." Be more respectful next time. If you want to defeat the enemy, don't sound like them. If you want to convince friends, don't insult them.

Duh 101.

17. Ok, samrock, I'll cut you some slack.
You sound like you're sincere. The Repub strategy is working. They are playing chess and I'm not sure we are even at the table. When we demand our leaders step up, we are told they've 'got this.' If only.

18. It wasn't the Repubs who made Banskters + Mandatory Insurance his top priorities
after taking office.

Obama's poor sense of priorities is partially what earned the 2010 rebuke.

24. Priorities!?!?!
Obamas 1st move was to pass a stimulus package to get more jobs.. He had the house and 60 votes in the senate.. The republicans were powerless to stop him.. He at 1st wanted a trillion dollar+ package.. what stopped him were DEMOCRATS!! Now to some they were DINOS.. I.E. Nelson, Lieberman and a couple others.. but the stimulus package that got thru was the best that could have passed.. If you disagree.. tell me HOW he could have gotten more money out of congress??.. and the stimulus worked.. we went from losing nearly 800k jobs a month to gaining a small amount each month.. We needed a 2nd package to really get us moving again.. but when we lost the senate seat in Mass.. that ended any hope of that.. Obama is NOT to blame ...
