The 11 craziest things in Rick Perry’s ‘Fed Up’ manifesto
Source: Business Insider - Raw Story
By Grace Wyler

Texas Gov. Rick Perry has been taking a lot of heat over some of the more controversial claims made in his 2010 small government treatise Fed Up! Our Fight To Save America From Washington.

The book is a fiery, anti-Washington treatise that lays bare Perry's ideas on the dangers of federal overreach and the primacy of the 10th Amendment. Incredulous pundits and reporters are heralding it as a virtual gold mine of opposition ammo for any 2012 candidate — Republican or Democrat — looking to torpedo Perry's White House bid.

In some ways, they are probably right. In the book, Perry affirms the death panel myth, lambastes, and calls Social Security a "Ponzi scheme" — and that's just a few of his incendiary claims.

But Perry does not appear to be shying away from the controversial positions he lays out in his book. During last night's GOP debate, he stood by his Ponzi scheme comparison, adding "maybe it's time to have some provocative language in this country."

2. I just don't see how he can walk away from all of his faux pas's! Every
time he opens his mouth, it seems that some shit pops out. He is much like Michelle Bachmann in that way.

3. Well now, there you go again, playing "gotcha"
See, Rick Perry isn't like your usual Washington Insider Politician. He's his own man, and you libruls can't just go reading something he wrote last year and think you know what he stands for. Rick Perry is a giant among men, Texas strong and Texas proud, and you can't confine him with something as namby-pamby as mere words. What Rick Perry stands for and what he will never compromise on, no matter how you libruls try to hem him in by his words or deeds, is the Greatness of America! You smaller, lesser mortals can snipe all you want from the sidelines, but Rick Perry has undeniably good hair, a crinkly smile and charm out the wazoo. And that's what America wants!

So, if you're against America being great, then you're against Rick Perry.

Whew! That should put to rest any inconvenient passages from Perry's book. Thank Beelzebub for a compliant popular media.
