Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg Makes SF Talk Day After Plane Emergency
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2011/09/15/us/AP-US-Justice-Ginsburg.html?hp

(snip)
During her appearance Thursday, the 78-year-old justice just spoke briefly about the ordeal when her plane had an emergency evacuation because of engine problems. The quick exit left her unhurt and unruffled.

She spent most of her time at the University of California, San Francisco's Hastings School of Law discussing her gender equality cases when she was a lawyer, as well as important cases she's dealt with on the high court.

But she says she finds the death penalty "the hardest part of the job."

She says she stays engaged with death penalty cases — rather than automatically voting against the death penalty — so she can "a voice in what's going on."
