Virginia Board Of Health Passes Strictest Abortion Clinic Regulations In The Nation
The Virginia Board of Health passed the most severe abortion clinic regulations in the nation on Thursday, which health advocates say could effectively close down all 22 abortion providers in the state.

The regulations, commissioned by the state legislature and written by the Virginia Department of Health, are largely unrelated to patient health and safety. They would treat abortion clinics as if they are hospitals if the clinics provide five or more first-trimester abortions a month and would enforce architectural design standards that will be almost impossible for most clinics to meet.

For instance, a clinic must have 5-foot-wide hallways, 8-foot-wide areas outside of procedure rooms, specific numbers of toilets and types of sinks and all of the latest requirements for air circulation flow and electrical wiring. Each clinic must also have a parking spot for every bed, despite the fact that first-trimester abortions don't require an overnight stay. Further, Department of Health employees will be allowed to enter an abortion facility at any time without notice or identification.

1. They will eventually shut down the country
and finally have their win without even the SCOTUS weighing in.
You have to hand it to them, they are clever, relentless, and will do whatever it takes however long it takes to reach their objective be it by murder, bomgings or legal means. One morning women will wake up in the country being forced to continue pregnancies or find someone willing to do a back alley abortion. We are slipping back into the dark ages faster than we even understand.

This is flying so quietly under the radar, but it's gaining speed in all the states who have right wing repuke governor's and legislatures.

6. Thank seniors who were frightened by talk of "death panels."

Obama allowed Teabaggers to control the message, and while seniors mostly split the vote between he and McCain in 2008, they voted more for Rs in 2010. Obama bears much responsibility in this. Many in GD: P deny that the bully pulpit exists, but Obama is certainly using it now to garner support for his jobs bill. Why didn't he do the same for HCR? A president cannot sit back and allow crazy people to frame the debate.

8. I can only assume lawsuits are being filed to stop this.
If pro-choice was a right wing issue, millions of donations would pour in to re-vamp the clinics. I just don't think there is enough money or concern on the left to counteract this. Unfortunately, my piddly $25 to Planned Parenthood is as significant as a flea on an elephant's ass.
