Okay, fess up. Who refused to speak with President Obama on the telephone? |
|
During the ceremony to give an award to a soldier for bravery in saving the lives of ambushed Afghan civilians and ambushed American soldiers, President Obama made a point of thanking the soldier for accepting the phone call. I know that it was a joke, but it sounded as though it was a joke inspired by something, such as somebody recently refusing to accept a call from President Obama.

1. Boehner wasn't answering his calls during the debt ceiling negotiations. |
|
It was probably about him.

2. The soldier who got the medal got a call from the White House while he was at work doing a civilian |

job. He refused to take the call because he had already had his break. The White House called him back during his lunch hour. He took the call. Then he flew to Washington to get his medal. Had a beer with Obama the night before. Obama called him down to earth.
