Does anyone have any links to reports from other countries on the Wall Street Occupation?
I thought the Guardian might, there appears to black out there too.
I did a search and could find nothing?
Perhaps some of our European DUers, or ex-pats could help?
I want to attach them to my FB share of the live feed.
In advance, THANKS!

My Spanish is horrible so I can't tell you which story says what.

I googled with Italy setting earlier and found only a couple.

As you can tell, I don't currently have google translate installed.

Perhaps someone can help with translations.

Sorry. Not much help.

Looks like the communication has been jammed though.
People blogging that they can't reach any one in the park
and the Global Revolution stream says they have lost contact

So TPTB don't want people knowing about this...
Gee, I wonder why...

There are folks here committed though to saying it's nuthing... nuthing to see here... reminds me of the very early days of Wisconsin.

Yes nadin, that's exactly what it reminds me of. I said in another post in another thread, that these things grow the longer they go on. And there's no better symbol to protest the capitalist system than Wall Street.

If they keep at it, it WILL grow.

Hundreds of Protestors Try To Occupy Wall Street

Hundreds of protestors gathered together Saturday, not far from Wall Street, in New York, intending to "occupy" the street that is the world's financial symbol, to protest against greed, corruption, and American social programs' cuts, said AFP (Agence France Presse).

The protestors, most of them young, had planned to camp in the street where the New York Stock Exchange is located, for as long as their griefs against a financial system which according to them favors the rich and powerfuls, will not be heard.

But the police blocked all access to Wall Street and neighboring streets where the biggest American banks are seated, long before the young people who answered the call to protest by many anarchist groups and the online magazine AdBusters.

"The only thing we have in common is, we are the 99% of the population that does not tolerate the greed and corruption of the remaining 1%," as reported by a communication on the "Occupy Wall Street" site (#occupywallstreet).

11. Check out the version Murdoch's rag in Australia puked out:
Protesters blocked from Wall St

"HUNDREDS of people marched on Saturday near Wall Street in New York, but the city thwarted their attempt to protest against greed, corruption and budget cuts.

Protesters had planned to stake out Wall Street to vent their anger over a financial system they say favours the rich and powerful, but police blocked all the streets near the New York Stock Exchange and Federal Hall in Lower Manhattan long before they arrived.

"The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99 Percent that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the one per cent," said a statement on the website Occupy Wall Street. The movement was launched by the online magazine Adbusters in July.

<snip>

By noon, about 700 people, many carrying backpacks and sleeping bags, had gathered near Wall Street to search for a place to camp amid a heavy police presence. That was far fewer than the 20,000 Adbusters had hoped to see "flood" the neighbourhood for a months-long occupation..."

19. You're good! But that last link is really fascist...check it out-
On the upper right hand corner of the page is a link
that says- Days till Obama Leaves Office
A count down thing, and the article blatantly
refers to the protesters as a few hundred leftists...

Speaking of protesters, Where exactly are the
tea baggers who want to take back the country at this protest?

The other two links are great though!
Thanks!

20. I didn't filter for flattering coverage... figured we should see it all.
I did notice the negative tone of the Canadian article, but my ad-blocker must hide the "obama countdown" {I can't see it}. Some of the AFP articles I browsed when searching have extremely negative comments, akin to (paraphrasing): look at the lazy ne'er-do-wells who don't work protesting those who work hard. That's what we're up against.

33. CNN said 500
a few hours later MSNBC doubled it... to 1000 GASP...

A few years ago the city editor for local rag revealed something interesting... media tends to take a zero off any crowd estimate...

Of course I know they do that... before he even admitted it... so nooz reporting numbers, I take it with a grain of cesium.

Context SDSU protests in the 1990s to keep some programs... they did not want to buy MY PHOTOS of the event since it would belay the 200 or so students they reported in the paper. From photos posted on web 5K sounds not that far fetched... 10K is a little more like stretching it.
