Rep. Nadler And Others Introduce Bill To Eliminate Debt Ceiling

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and a number of his Democratic Party colleagues in the House of Representatives have introduced a bill to eliminate the debt ceiling, saying that the measure is needed after the House Republicans successfully held the ceiling hostage for budget cuts over the summer. Nadler appeared on The Nation’s Chris Hayes’ new MSNBC show, “Up With Chris Hayes,” to discuss his bill.

1. Political posturing, and extremely harmful in this climate. There is no way..

that such a bill was get passed in this climate. So it's mere political posturing (is Nadler up for election in 2012?), and harmful to the Democratic Party ("You see???? The Democrats want no cap at all on their reckless spending!!! Yikes!!!")

2. other countries don't have debt ceilings

without the debt ceiling posturing,the psychopath repigs would lose a scare tactic and they'd have a harder time telling people the country can't afford a social safety net.
